Our personal revolutionary war-reenacting page

We both love history, love to camp, meet new people and such. So, this past March 16-18, 2001 we started a new chapter in our lives as a couple that LOVES to reenact the revolutionary war in our spare time. Sonja has a caught the fever of wanting to participate as much as we can at events and we are eagerly learning new information, getting new clothes for ourselves and purchasing/acquiring new stuff for us to be self sufficient at events, yet able to share with our fellow reenactors.

On March 18, 2001 at the Reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse (Sonja's first ever event) we both became regular members of the 1st Maryland Infantry/Southern Campaign (NC)

We also have ties to 2 groups based in Connecticut. We are associate members of both the Second Connecticut Regiment of the Continental Line (where Michael began reenacting the Revolutionary War in August 1986) and Sheldon's Horse, Second Continental Regiment of Light Dragoons (who have much to our amazement had accepted us as members years ago).

In the rules of the 1st Maryland, regular members "cannot be members of any other Revolutionary War Unit".  This brought about a question we had for our new group.  We knew that odds are both groups would not be making events in the Carolinas so we asked the 1st Maryland/Southern Campaign (NC) membership if it was possible to be Associate members of both groups so if we wanted to make an event in New England/New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania we could be with our CT friends. The 1st Maryland membership said it was ok.

With this in mind, if there is any event that the 2nd CT and/or Sheldon's Horse are attending and the 1st Maryland Infantry, Southern Campaign are also at the event, we will be with the 1st Maryland Infantry.

We wanted to state the above to clear any questions of our status of membership in the above-mentioned units

Now, if you wondering what we look like in our 18th century clothes we have now a personal revolutionary war reenactment photo gallery.
