We hope that 2006 has been a blessed year for each and every one of you.

We have definitely had a bit of an interesting year. In November of last year (2005), Michael with my support made the decision to become a preacher and he chose to attend East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions in Knoxville Tennessee. We began the application process then.

In February, Michael ended up in the hospital with what we thought was a heart attach. He had a heart chatherization and we thank the Lord that his heart was fine. They determined it was his gallbladder. We were so relieved until the evening of his chatherization. His artery they had catheterized opened up and he began to bleed internally. He was rushed to emergency surgery to repair the artery. He came though it fine and then one week later he had his gallbladder out. He is doing great physically now thanks to God and the doctors and nurses.

In March we were blessed to find out that he was accepted to preaching school in Knoxville. I also was hired at a local hospital in Knoxville in early April and we moved to Knoxville in May. We are so happy to be attending church at Karns Church of Christ in Karns Tennessee, which is actually part of Knoxville. This is where the school is located.

Michael began school the end of August and I began taking a required wives class at the school. His first quarter was very challenging for him but he did great. He excelled in his Greek class which was one of the classes he was most worried about.

Things were going great and we started into the second quarter of school with great anticipation but we had no idea what awaited us in early November. I had not been feeling well for a couple of months and it got to the point that I had to go and see a doctor. I had some tests run and on November 7th, we were told I had Ovarian Cancer. We were stunned. We were given very little hope for a good prognosis from the doctor and surgery was scheduled for the next Monday.

As soon as we found out, the call went out from us to people we know and they all sent out the call to people they knew for prayers for me. We went into the surgery with hope and confidence in God and his providence. I had the surgery and by the grace of God the tumor had only invaded the female organs. Also, we were told it was a rare, borderline tumor that was not as aggressive and easier to treaty then most other ovarian cancers. The doctor felt like he was able to remove all of the cancer. The power of prayer!!!! WOW!!! I will still have to have chemotherapy, but the doctor is confident we will have a very very good prognosis.

Interestingly enough, the doctor was very stumped as to what caused the pain and fever I was having prior to the cancer being found. He told us there was no scientific reason for the pain or the fever. The one thing I am sure of is that God’s providence was working in my life. If they hadn’t found the cancer when they did, it could and would have been much worse. Michael and I feel like the Lord definitely has plans for our lives and we plan on going and doing whatever the Lord has in store for us.

Please keep Michael and I in your prayers. I am having chemo for a several months and Michael will be in school until July 2008. We definitely need your prayers. Always remember "the prayers of a righteous man availeth much".
