Here is a map (size: 103 KB)
to go with the cemetery site numbers with each listing. The map came from September 6,
1781: North Groton's Story.
"Since gravestones will continue to deteriorate and be lost, the most important
service one can give is to record every thing that remains, both by a written record and
archivally processed black and white photograph of all fragments. In this way their
location and information will be available to the future."
From September 6, 1781 North Groton's story, Page 105
Note: KNOWN Information about the men is of the time of the battle is listed after the
defender's name.
Example: Previous experience or special information about he defender on the day of the
battle at the battle, current military status (Militia, volunteer, state troops), Result
of fighting (Killed, wounded, escaped, wounded and paroled, prisoner), Age of defender at
the time of the battle, family status.
Rank in front of a man's name is his rank at the time of the battle. Men without a rank in
front of their name are privates.
